Editing Member Info

This page is where you would access all of the information for your personal web page and contact information. It is important that you keep this data updated so we can contact you with Refnet news and other important issues. The contact information for your listings is also derived from the information you enter on this page. Most of thse form fields are self-explanatory, but some areas bear a little more explanation:
  • Photo - Simply browse your computer for the image you would like to display on your personal web site. When uploading your image, it is very important that the image file name or any directories in which the file resides:
    • Does not contain any of the following characters: ! @ # $ % ^ & * () ; (semicolon) , (comma) " ' { } | < >
    • Does not contain ANY SPACES.
    • Consists of a simple file name consisting of only letters or numbers with a single dot separating the file name and extension in the format filename.extension, where "extension" is any valid web format extension (jpg, jpeg, gif, or png.)
    • Is correctly saved only in the web-compatible formats .jpg, .gif, or .png.
    • The file uploads are for image data only - any other types of files will error if you try to upload them to a photo or logo field.
If any of the above conditions exist when uploading your image to this site, the upload process will error or not display on your personal page or listings.

If you have previously uploaded images to your personal page or listings, when you edit your info a label will display below the upload fields that show what images are already associated with your profile as well as a delete checkbox. Any image you upload will overwrite the previous image - you do not have to delete it first. To completely delete the image from your web page, simply click the delete checkbox and click the "Update Member Info" button at the bottom of the form.

  • Logo Graphic - As above, you may upload a logo graphic to display on your page. It will also be auto-resized and must be in the suggested formats.

  • Template - You have a choice of 3 templates to choose from for the display of your page. Click the sample links to get a feel for how these look (there is also some HTML help on these samples.) All of the info entered in this form will be formatted in the selected template to produce a beautiful, professional-looking web page.

  • Profile - The profile is the "content" of your personal web page. If you know HTML markup (or care to learn a little bit as shown on our HTML Help page) you can completely format the content area of the template to your taste. The degree to which you do this can be controlled by the "Format for Me" button below.

  • Format For Me (or not) - You don't need to know or understand the HTML language to have a professional - looking web page. Simply select the "Format For Me" button and enter an extra carriage return ( a blank line) between each of your intended paragraphs. Our site programming will automatically enter paragraph tags in the appropriate place. Select "I Will Format My Page" if you want complete HTML markup control over your profile.

In either case, the "profile" field will allow you to enter any other non-paragraph HTML markup. Tables, lists, styles, and font tags are all allowed.

  • Non-Refnet URL - Enter the full URL to any external website you want to link to from your personal web page. If you forget the "http," we will add it for you! This link is your "primary" external web site - you can add other links below.

  • Other Links - Use this for any secondary links you want to display on your personal web page. For each link, enter the link URL, press the enter key once, then add the next URL.

  • Comments - This field is for internal review and our contact system. This information will not display on any page. Feel free to attach any comments to your account you feel appropriate.

  • Submit Buttons - There are three buttons to control the submission of your personal data:
    • Update Member Info: This submits the data and commits the changes.
    • Reset to Initial Values: This is a standard "Reset" button, but since your for loads with all your personal data already entered, pressing it will make it appear that "nothing happens." Actually what happens is that those initial values reload into the fields.
    • Clear All Fields: This literally clears all fields and can be undone by pressing the "Reset to Initial Values" button.
